Internal / External Links : Links Are Important

Why should you know where you’re pointing your links internally basically. Linker Search Tools. The Strongest Sub-Page Tool. You could use tools from linker search tools, the strongest sub-page tool.

Importance Internal / External Links : Hi and welcome. My name is Harald Tschuggnall from seoacademy.net and today I want to talk about internal / external linking. Let’s start with internal. Why is it important? Why should you know where you’re pointing your links internally basically, because if you look at a search engine, it’s quite logical that search engine will figure out if you’re linked to a certain page a lot of times than this page, the sub-page on your website must be more important than a sub-page that just has got like 2 or 3 links internally. It’s really about how often are you linking to a certain sub-page and from which pages are you linking to.

Linker Search Tools, The Strongest Sub-Page Tool:

What I mean by that is first of all you should figure out what are actually the strongest pages on your website. To find that out, you could use tools from linker search tools, the strongest sub-page tool, you can stick in your domain and then actually the tools will tell you which the strongest internal page is. If you know that, then you can actually set links to your most important product or services. That means most of the time the start page is the strongest page. Then a lot of times there is the about us page, and there is the contact page, and there are some internal imprint pages and stuff like that, that have most of the time a lot of power.

Building Internal / External Links:

This is because people if are referring to your brand, to your website. They tend to go to the contact page or the about us page, and they link directly to that. This is why most of these are quite strong pages. If you know that for example, the about us page and the imprint page are among your strongest pages. As a result you should try to implement the link there, to your most important services or products. But you shouldn’t do that in the full term, because Google will actually recognize that this is called boilerplate. They try to figure out what is actually on every page and they won’t count that, that’s prominent. Because it’s on every page for Internal / External Links. There shouldn’t be to many. It’s not really helpful for the internal link flow for a search engine to figure out what is important.

Have a Strong About Us Page:

You should implement it somewhere in the content but try to. If you have a strong about us page, a strong imprint page, link it to your most important product or services and also make sure that from your start page, you link directly to that product and don’t waste too much time and too much link power basically to link to other products that are not so important for you. This will really help you to make the product pages and the most important service pages, very strong and rank a little higher of course and also if you link very clever to it, the users will find it more likely, easier and it’s a high chance to get better conversions and better sales of course.

What are Internal / External Links:

The other point is actually the external link profile. What are Internal / External Links. Is what a lot of people basically ask me, should I link out to other competitor? Should I link out to Wikipedia? Should I link out to interesting sources? Or should I actually keep my link power. We’re not talking about actually the external link profile; we’re talking about the external out linking. Should you link out to some other places if you like, for example blog post. There are 2 sides that we have to consider. There is one side if the search engine comes and sees your article and they see you’re linking out to relevant places that can really make you more relevant. Keep in mind they’re not stupid.

Wikipedia and stuff like that:

They know a lot of people try to game them and they try to link out to Google, to Wikipedia and stuff like that. You really have to make sure that there is a lot of value and that is really the right place to link to and it’s not spam, it’s good information and it can make the article really more relevant. I won’t see much of difference if you link out or if you don’t link out. I will also not be afraid to give away some link power, link tools. I won’t use the nuvola tech to link out, because actually you want the people or you want your users to get the information. It will be a little strange if you would use a nuvola tech telling basically that you’re really trusting this source.

I would say it doesn’t make a difference. If it is good for users, if it can help your users, then I would totally agree to link out to sources and don’t be actually afraid to lose any link power. I hope that was useful and I see you like every day, tomorrow.
